Dear RGS friends,
Thank you for your overwhelming support for the RGS Girls Around The World campaign. All 10 LEGO girls have now been adopted and a total of $3,040 has been raised in the adoption drive! We will be introducing the LEGO girls to the world soon. Keep a look out for their debut and get ready to host them.
If you missed the opportunity to adopt the LEGO girls, don’t be disappointed. The LEGO girls will be travelling to meet RGS alumnae and you could get a chance to host them. Post on the RGS Alumnae Facebook group to connect with the current host and offer to be a host for a LEGO girl. The travelling LEGO girls are looking forward to connecting you with long-lost RGS friends and new RGS friends!
How it works
- The LEGO girl wants to connect with as many alumnae around the world as possible, so please do not hold on to the LEGO girl for more than 2 weeks.
- Send the LEGO girl on the next leg of her world travels by passing her to a fellow RGS alumna (in Singapore or anywhere in the world). You can pass the LEGO girl to your friend or make new friends by posting on the RGS Alumnae Facebook group to identify the next alumna to host the LEGO girl.
- Arrange to meet up with the RGS alumna who will be the next host of the LEGO girl.
- Take a photo (or photos!) of yourself, the RGS alumna and the LEGO girl.
- Post the photo(s) on the RGS Alumnae Facebook page with a caption and the hashtag #rgsgirlsaroundtheworld or email the photo to rgsgirlsaroundtheworld@gmail.com
- You can mail the LEGO girl (via registered mail) to another RGS alumna if meeting up is not possible.
- After you have passed or posted the LEGO girl to another RGS alumna, e-mail rgsgirlsaroundtheworld@gmail.com and/or update http://tinyurl.com-RGS-Lego to let the administrator know to whom your LEGO girl is headed.
- If you happen to be keeping company with a LEGO girl on 15 July 2017, please help to send her home to RGS.
- Refer to our FAQ below for more details.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q) Do I get to keep the LEGO girl at the end of her travels?
Unfortunately, no. The LEGO girl will return to RGS at the end of her year of journey.
Q) If I adopt/host a LEGO girl, am I responsible for keeping track of her?
RGS Alumnae will be keeping track of all the LEGO girls, so it’s important to update us by completing http://tinyurl.com-RGS-Lego and/or email rgsgirlsaroundtheworld@gmail.com once you have sent/passed the LEGO girl to the next host.
Q) Can I meet friends in Singapore or in the same country?
Of course! The objective of this campaign is to re-connect old friends and to make new ones. If you are all in the same country, all the more convenient to meet up more!
Q) I don’t have time to meet another RGS friend, can I hold on to the LEGO girl?
Please don’t hoard the LEGO girl, please post her or let another friend pass her on if you know you will be busy for a while.
Q) What if the LEGO girl gets lost?
We will be tracking the LEGO girls regularly. Hence it is important to update http://tinyurl.com-RGS-Lego and/or email rgsgirlsaroundtheworld@gmail.com to let us know who to ask if the Lego girl is missing. We hope everyone will take care of the LEGO girls so they can complete their one year journey. If unfortunately, a LEGO girl gets lost, we will try our best to find her but cannot guarantee success.
